I was delighted to be asked to work on the cover illustration for the US election issue of BNY Mellon's magazine, Aerial View.
I've had some experience in working with shaped text and calligrams but it was a new and exciting challenge to create a pair of portraits for the presidential candidates.
The words used to create the portraits were excerpts taken from Trump’s and Biden’s RNC and DNC acceptance speeches, gradually built up, letter by letter to create their faces. A painstaking but satisfying process!
