I really enjoyed working on this cover for Menna Elfyn's book about poet, Eluned Phillips, twice winner of the Eisteddfod crown, Wales' most prestigious Welsh language literary prize. Eluned embraced an unconventional lifestyle for the time, which took her to pre-war London and Paris to mix with famous artists and writers.
This fascinating book was a pleasure to work on, offering a wealth of reference material for my design. I combined digital collage, line illustration, distressed typography and hand lettering to capture the right period feel, while still giving it a contemporary twist.
